💥 Skaters on the World Stage

Updated: Jul 11

After months of intense preparation and total dedication, Raiden Dolder (Junior Men’s) and Alyvia Samia (Junior Women’s) have earned their place on the Australian team heading to the Asian Roller Sports Championships in South Korea this July — and it’s a moment they’ve truly worked for.

This marks the first time Australia has been invited to compete at this prestigious event, making it not only a historic moment for our sport, but also a proud milestone for Logan City Speed.

Both skaters have shown incredible discipline and determination throughout the season. From early morning training sessions before school to late-night technique drills, they’ve never missed a beat, never made excuses, and never backed down from a challenge. Their attitude has set the tone for our younger skaters and inspired everyone around them.

🏁 Meet the Skaters

Raiden has been a standout across all levels — known for his laser focus, strong technique, and relentless drive to improve. Over the past few months, he’s doubled down on training, hitting extra sessions out on the new Muz track and pushing the pace at every regular training. He’s looking fast, sharp, and ready to take on the international stage. His eyes are locked on the challenge ahead, and we can’t wait to see him in action.

Alyvia continues to shine as one of the brightest young talents in the country. Every session, she brings a level of effort and energy that’s unmatched. From strength to strength, we’ve watched her develop into a fierce competitor — gaining speed, confidence, and consistency. Her growth this year has been nothing short of incredible, and we know she’ll do us proud in Korea.

🧢 Leadership From Logan

Not only do we have two incredible athletes representing Australia, but this year, Logan City Speed also contributes two team leaders who will guide the national team overseas.

👊 Kurt Stevens – Australian Team Coach

After more than 30 years away from the sport, Kurt has come back stronger than ever — both literally and figuratively. A former bodybuilder with the shoulders to match, he’s carried the weight of this team with passion, leadership, and humility.

Kurt has grabbed this coaching role with both hands, mentoring our skaters with experience, strategy, and care. His return to elite skating has already made waves, and we’re grateful to have him back not only at Logan City Speed but also making an impact nationally.

🇦🇺 Samon Lee – Australian Team Manager

When Samon puts her hand up for a task, you can rest assured it’ll be done — and done right. She’s an absolute powerhouse behind the scenes at Logan City Speed — taking care of all the little things that make the big things happen. Whether it’s helping organise gear, coordinating travel, or supporting coaches, Samon is always there, quietly keeping things on track.

Now, she brings that same dedication to the national stage. With strong family ties to Korea and relatives still living there, she brings a meaningful cultural connection to the trip — offering the team an added sense of familiarity and insight as they head into new surroundings. We’re incredibly proud to see her step into this role and represent not only our club, but everything that makes community sport so strong.

🌟 A Club First

While Logan City Speed proudly sent four skaters to the 2024 World Roller Games in Italy, along with Coach Ed in a national role, this marks the first time we’ve had two skaters, a coach, and a team manager all selected for the same Australian national team.

It’s a massive honour for our club and a clear reflection of the depth, passion, and culture of excellence we’ve built together.

💬 A Message From the Club

“This is what community sport is all about,” said Club Secretary Chris Bowling. “To see two of our hardest-working young athletes wear the green and gold — and to have two of our trusted leaders guiding them — it’s incredibly special. Raiden and Alyvia have earned every bit of this opportunity through consistency, grit, and an unwavering drive to succeed.”

To Raiden, Alyvia, Kurt, and Samon — your Logan City Speed family is right behind you. Skate with pride, enjoy the experience, and know that the whole club will be cheering you on.

Let’s show our support!

Follow us on social media for updates as the team heads to Korea — and don’t forget to send your good luck messages. Go Logan City Speed! 💚💛
