A Big Start to a Big Year in Inline Speed Skating
Welcome to 2026 at Logan City Speed Skating Club.
Nationals, competition pathways, Fun Series, Enduro racing, and a jam-packed start to the season for inline speed skaters across Queensland.
Welcome to 2026! We’re excited to kick off another action-packed year at Logan City Speed and share a snapshot of what’s happening across the club in the opening months of the season.
Nationals Are Right Around the Corner
With the National Championships just days away (18–23 January 2026), we’d like to wish all Logan City Speed members heading down to Melbourne the very best of luck. This is a national-level championship event, bringing together the top skaters from across Australia and marking a major moment in the competitive calendar.
Months of hard work, commitment, and focus have gone into preparing for this event, and we’re incredibly proud to see our skaters representing Logan City Speed on the national stage. Skate hard, race smart, and enjoy every moment of the experience.
Stepping Up to Competition Racing
This year we’re also excited to welcome around 11 of our Saturday skaters who have been invited to step up and join in on competition racing. These skaters will be taking on increased training loads as they begin their next chapter within the club.
To support this transition, we’re exploring the introduction of a buddy program, pairing some of our more experienced young athletes with these developing skaters. The aim is to help welcome them into the team, build confidence, and share helpful tips and guidance along the way — learning, growing, and rolling forward together.
Racing Calendar & What’s Ahead
While the 2026 race calendar is still being finalised, we expect competition to kick off again around February with the return of the Enduro Series (dates still to be confirmed — nothing locked in just yet).
We’re also looking ahead to the return of our Fun Series, likely around March, giving skaters of all levels another great opportunity to race, learn, and enjoy the competitive environment in a fun and supportive setting — and yes, we’re sure the now-famous Dad’s Scooter Race will make a return as well.
As dates are released, we ask all competition skaters and families to please pencil these events into your calendars. The Skate QLD–sanctioned racing season typically runs from around February through to October, and at this stage is shaping up to include:
3 road events
3 track events
Enduro Series (3 races)
State Championships
Fun Series events
These events form an important part of our racing pathway and overall season planning. Locking them in early helps skaters prepare properly, supports consistent attendance, and allows families to plan travel and commitments well ahead of time.
New Club Skin Suits – Order Coming Soon
A new club skin suit order will be opening very soon. Whether you’re ordering your first Logan City Speed skin suit or updating an existing one, order forms will be released shortly — keep an eye on your inbox and club channels.
Looking Further Into the Year
As we move deeper into 2026, members can expect:
More simulated racing, with a few exciting twists added in (you’ll have to wait and see 👀)
The return of our testing days, allowing skaters to clearly see just how far they’ve progressed throughout the year
Travel & Competition Opportunities
For those who enjoy travelling and racing abroad, we have Logan City Speed members heading to:
China Marathon – March
Namwon Open – April
Closer to home, keep an eye out for local competition opportunities, including the Dennis Harris Cup in Victoria, expected around March.
With Nationals, new competition skaters, multiple race series, and club initiatives all lining up, the first few months of 2026 are shaping up to be jam-packed — the good kind — and a great way to get the wheels turning for the year ahead.
Whether you’re racing, learning, supporting, or just getting started, we’re excited to roll into 2026 together
